5th April 2009 - Taking it easy

This Sunday started off like every other Sunday... wake up late (9am) and drive for about an hour from home to Pyrmont for breakfast...

We've tried numerous brekkie joints over the years and we have settled on this little gem for the past year (we used to go for Yum Cha but there's only so much miscellaneous animal bits you can consume in a lifetime)

Our breakfast place of choice is a little cosy cafe called Cafe XXII (22 for all those who are illiterate with roman numerals :) )

They are located on 22 Union St Pyrmont.

Ee Laine decided to treat her sweet tooth this morning and ordered the fluffy buttermilk ricotta pancakes... awesome choice :)

I on the other hand was in the mood for my regular Sunday special - Cafe XXII Big breakfast with Fried Eggs, Sourdough Toast, Grilled Tomatoes & Mushrooms, Sausage and Crispy Bacon *Drool*

After this hearty meal, we needed to work it off... Rolling back to the car (uphill I might add) was quite a feat in itself. We made our way to Alexandria (warehouse capital) to look for bargains. Ee scored a nice black Saba dress for $50 (RRP $280)... I spotted myself a pair of G-Star jeans for $50 (originally $220) from DFO...

Oh yeah.. almost forgot one of the highlights of my day...

We went to Chatswood Chase to check out the new wing of shops and stumbled across the new Coles supermarket. I must say it looks pretty awesome (for a supermarket)...

Standing in line to purchase 2 bottles of water, there was a bloke standing in front of us with his purchase sliding on the black conveyor belt to the check out operator (named James according to the tattered badge on his chest). This MALE CUSTOMER had just one item he wanted to purchase.. a pack of Libra Pads.

The teenage staffer asked him without thinking "is this for you today?" - Awkward silence...

I think I pulled a muscle from holding the laughter in me and preventing a real life LOL ...

James from Counter 5 of Coles in Chatswood Chase - you are a douche
